I moved into a self-contained apartment at Saint Luke's Place nine years ago. This was MY decision. I did not wait until my sons had to make a difficult decision for me. It has given me fresh friends and more freedom than I have ever had in my lifetime. When I choose, I travel, I do volunteer work and I may just enjoy the ambience of the place.

For seven years after the death of my husband, I lived alone in our house. I now do not have the worry and the fear and helplessness of living by myself. My family also knows that I live in a place that cares when I need help. This gives them greater security about me.

I could write an essay on why I'm happy at Saint Luke's Place - but suffice it to say "it's wonderful living at a place where one feels loved - and where one feels part of a "large happy family" with all the residents and the staff too - who are truly outstanding in their concerns for our comfort and needs."  And it does fulfill our needs - we have worship and Bible study, a variety of entertainment, crafts to do, games to play and fellowship with lots of fun and laughter. It's a place where we share and we care with neighbourly love and especially to those who need special care.  Living at Saint Luke's Place is wonderful.

I moved from the apartments of Saint Luke's Place to the retirement section shortly after I fractured by hip. This was my second fracture and very apparent that I needed more help. The staff is very nice and friendly. My needs are totally looked after and I am not dependent on my family.
I am very content here and yet still able to have a place of my own. There are all sorts of activities going on - musicals, dances and fashion shows just to name a few. Since I have moved into the retirement are my family is less worried about me and we are able to have fun, quality time together. I am still able to go to the family cottage with them.
